Gordon Wilson

Chairman of the board of directors

Gordon’s career spans over three decades, having held key leadership positions in both technology and pensions businesses. Gordon was the CEO of Advanced for over eight years and recently stepped down to start his non-executive career. Advanced is a business focused on digital transformation, impacting 40 million people every day. Gordon is a board member of TechUK and chairs three other tech businesses: Zenitech, Imagesound and The Polaris Group. Previously, Gordon led the management team at Aquila Heywood, a leading pension software provider, and generated substantial growth for the business during his tenure.

Andrew Evans

Group Chief Executive, co-founder and board member

Andrew co-founded Smart to give real people simpler ways to save and access their savings throughout their lives. As the company has grown, world-leading institutions and governments have partnered with Smart, allowing us to help more people with their money. Previously, Andrew was an international managing director, with roles in banking and finance. He also works with cutting edge innovation foundations – awarding funding and offering advice to promising UK fintech companies and social entrepreneurs, including those who work with open banking.

Eoin Corcoran

Chief Financial Officer and board member

Eoin is responsible for Smart's finance and legal activities. With a strong background across organisations including KPMG, Eversheds as well as technology and B2B information services, Eoin's experience covers finance leadership, capital markets and fundraising, corporate, commercial and operational strategy, and M&A.

Dee McGrath

Non-Executive Director

Dee is Chief Executive Officer of Retirement and Superannuation Solutions at the Link Group. She had more than 20 years’ experience working across financial services, technology and consulting before taking up this role, having previously been the Managing Partner of IBM Global Business Services for Australia and New Zealand, with responsibility for IBM’s consulting, professional services and digital businesses. She also held the role of Vice President of Financial Services for IBM Asia Pacific, and was a member of the board of IBM Australia. Dee has also held executive roles at Visa, HP Enterprise Services and National Bank of Australia. Dee is a Director of numerous Link Group entities, including being the Chair of Link Advice, a Director of Smart Pension and a member of Chief Executive Women. She was also a founding member of the Advisory Board for Women in Payments in Australia.

Charles Janeway

Non-Executive Director

Charles is a Principal at Aquiline Capital Partners. Prior to joining the firm in 2019, he was Head of Corporate Finance at Howden, a global (re)insurance intermediary headquartered in London. Charles previously worked at General Atlantic, where he focused on financial services and technology investments across Europe. He began his career as an investment banker at Barclays Capital.

Stephen Morana

Non-Executive Director

Stephen has two decades of experience in high-growth and disruptive technology-enabled businesses. He spent a decade as part of the senior management team at Betfair, where he was CFO during the IPO in 2010. After Betfair he moved to Zoopla, where he was again CFO during their successful IPO. In 2020 he joined Cazoo where he led their IPO on the New York Stock Exchange. Stephen was also audit committee chairman and then senior independent director at Entain plc the FTSE 100 business from 2016-2021, and has been a venture partner at Octopus Ventures.

James Devlin

Non-Executive Director

James is a venture capitalist and a co-founder of Fidelity International Strategic Ventures. He has backed over 20 fintech companies across North America, Europe and Asia in retirement, employee benefits, capital markets, brokerage, digital assets, RegTech and wealth management. These include regional and product category leaders that went on to exit to major strategic buyers. He was previously at Fidelity International and Eight Roads, a global venture and investment firm.

Nick Williamson

Non-Executive Director

Nick is a Managing Partner at Chrysalis Investment Partners and a member of the Investment Team. Previously Nick worked as a Co-Fund Manager of Chrysalis Investments at Jupiter Asset Management and was a UK Smaller Companies Fund Manager while both at Jupiter and, prior to that, Merian Global Investors, where he was also a UK equities analyst. Additionally, he has over a decade of experience as a sell-side analyst, having taken on a broad range of responsibilities, most recently at Citigroup. Nick began his investment career in 1995.
